Philadelphia's Essen Bakery is home to one of the nation's top bakers

PHILADELPHIA -- Essen Bakery is Philadelphia's go-to spot for Jewish breads and pastries.

"Essen means to eat in Yiddish," says owner, Tova du Plessis.

Essen Bakery got its start in 2016 and is located in South Philadelphia.

Owner Tova du Plessis is a repeat James Beard nominee for the top baker in the country.
