New 'Frozen' attraction coming to Disney World
A new attraction, modeled after the 2013 animated film, Frozen, has just begun construction in the Epcot theme park at Walt Disney World Resorts near Orlando, FL.
The new attraction will immerse guests in many of their favorite moments and music within the film, and including a royal greeting location where guests can meet Queen Elsa and Princess Anna in person.
Frozen-inspired attractions have been growing in presence around the Disney World parks since the summer launch of 'Frozen Summer Fun LIVE!'

Starting in November this year, Queen Elsa is expected to user her powers to freeze Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom every night; and December guests will see Frozen characters in "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade."

The new 'Frozen' ride will replace "Maelstrom," a viking-themed boat ride touring through Norse fables and mythology located in the Norway area of Epcot. The design within the animated film is deeply inspired by Scandinavian culture, particularly Norway. Though the classic ride may be on its way out, many Norwegian-fantasy elements within "Maelstrom," such as trolls, are also found in Disney's Frozen, so there's a good chance that many depictions of Norway's ancient culture will find its way into the new, film-inspired attraction.
Walt Disney promised that Disneyland would never be completed so long as there is imagination left in the world. Walt, himself, did not live to see Disney World, though his pledge continues to be honored just the same.
No date has been set yet on when "Maelstrom" will shut down, or when the Frozen-inspired attraction will open.
