Celebrity chef Todd English charged with DWI in NY

SOUTHAMPTON, NY -- Celebrity chef Todd English has been arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated in New York.



Police in Southampton say the 54-year-old English was arrested at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday on a county road on Long Island.



Authorities say he posted $1,500 bail at Southampton Town Justice Court.



An email to English's representative wasn't immediately returned.



The chef's full name is William Todd English. He has opened a number of restaurants around the country, including Olives, Figs, and Fish Club. He's also been a regular on television programs including "Iron Chef USA."



He has written several cookbooks and has been honored by the James Beard Foundation for excellence and achievement in cuisine.
