When a mom got an email from other parents from her daughter's class asking that she chip in to buy birthday presents for her classmates, she was a little put off by the request.
The mom -- English TV personality Myleene Klass -- posted the email to her Instagram page, along with her response, which is now going viral.
Klass pointed out how silly she found the request for a class-coordinated birthday present by making her own request: a unicorn for her daughter Ava. She shared her humorous comeback with her social media followers, assuring them that she had changed the names of those involved before posting it publicly.
She didn't just take issue with the sentiment behind soliciting for a class-coordinated birthday present. The presents that were being requested, she tweeted, struck her as rather extravagant compared to her childhood wishes.
This was also the sentiment behind her response. While the other students were requesting a Kindle and a desk, Klass thought it would be appropriate to ask that the class parents chip in to buy her daughter a "real, live unicorn." She also showed how wrong she found the mentality by saying that money could be sent via a website called "Get What You're Given And End This Madness."
