DICKINSON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Dickinson teen is being recognized with a big honor for helping save his neighbors during Hurricane Harvey.
Many people may remember 13-year-old Virgil Smith. Using an air mattress, Smith rescued 17 of his neighbors who were trapped in their homes by high water.
Smith is one of five recipients selected by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society to receive the "Young Hero Award" for his heroism during the storm in August of last year.
