HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A father was killed while out with his wife and daughters at a southwest Houston restaurant early Sunday morning.
Luis Medrano, 38, was shot and killed at the Cancun Taqueria on South Gessner near Beechnut at around 3:30am.
We're told a group of men began arguing with Medrano inside the restaurant. Medranao was there with his wife and two daughters. When the argument escalated, two security guards employed by the restaurant asked them to leave.
That's when the argument became physical and the men began throwing punches in the parking lot. HPD says the suspect then walked over to his car and Medrano followed, prompting the suspect to pull out a rifle and shoot.
Houston police did not release a description on the suspect or the vehicle he fled in. If you have any information, you are asked to please call Crime Stoppers.
This is the same place were 20-year-old Roy Valdez was shot and killed two years ago. Police say Valdez was eating with friends on Mother's Day of 2012 when shots rang out. He was hit in the head and died at the scene.
