Customer shot after armed robbers get away empty-handed

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities say robbers took out their frustrations on an innocent customer in northeast Harris County.

Three armed men barged into the Best Stop Food Store on Homestead and Hamill last night.

Police say they tried to rob the clerk, but he ran behind the register which is protected by bulletproof glass. Unable to take anything, the robbers went into the parking lot and started shooting at random people. One customer was hit in the leg. He's going to be OK.

The gunmen got away.
