A driver of a car hit by a crane was given a ticket for failing to yield to the right of way to an emergency vehicle

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A driver of a car had a green light when he was hit by a crane, but Police say the car's driver is still at fault.

The crash happened around 5:15am this morning on Old Humble Road at at the North Sam Houston Parkway.

Police were escorting a crane through that part of town and entered the intersection. The crane had a red light, but because the crane had a police escort it had the right of way.

The driver, who had the green light, didn't stop and entered the intersection. The crane could not stop in time and t-boned the vehicle.

There were three people inside the car. None of them were hurt.

The driver will be cited for failure to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle.
