Cookie Monster writes late-night jokes

LOS ANGELES, CA (KTRK) -- Cookie Monster took a stab at writing late-night jokes for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," but the "Sesame Street" character's attempt at comedy didn't really work out, and he likely won't earn any cookie dough.

The problem? Cookie Monster couldn't keep his mind off his favorite treat, relying on the same punchline for all his jokes: Cookies!

Cookie Monster's appearance was part of a press tour for his first-ever one-hour TV special, "The Cookie Thief," premiering on PBS Kids on Feb. 16. It kicks off a week of new "Sesame Street" episodes.
