CONROE, TX -- A Conroe man issued a confession and apology to Montgomery County Judge Alan B. Sadler Monday morning regarding the vandalism and theft of a courthouse statue dedicated to children in foster care.

Caleb Lamb, 24, who did not have an attorney present, was accompanied by only his mother and local business owner Mike Canada when he provided a written apology to Sadler with The Courier present at the judge's office in downtown Conroe.

"I want to apologize publicly to Judge Sadler and the citizens of Montgomery County. It is not at all in my character to do something like this, but regrettably, I did do it and I am so sorry," said Lamb, a 2009 graduate of Conroe High School. "It is an act that I would never dream of committing in my right mind, but I make no excuses. I can only tell you that I feel great remorse and I beg the forgiveness of all those that I have hurt. I'm a lover of art and music, which makes me that much more ashamed."
