Conroe statues vandalized, stolen
Investigators want to know who would do this to statues dedicated to abused and neglected children

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- A statue dedicated to abuse and neglected children became the target of vandalism in Conroe.

Crooks took aim at the "Children at Play" piece in front of the Montgomery County Courthouse sometime overnight on Tuesday. A vandal broke off two of the four bronze children. The statue is dedicated to abuse and neglected children.

Currently, there are 600 children in foster care in the county. Terri Jaggers is with the local CPS/Child Welfare Board. Jaggers said the crime is upsetting and wants justice.

"We named them all," said Jaggers. "We'd love to see AJ and TJ back playing with the girls, back representing the hope of our children in the future."

Anyone with information on the vandalism, call Montgomery County Crime Stoppers.
