Coconut Oil is one of the most versatile natural creations and there are countless ways to use it in your beauty routine. It is full of Lauric acid which is ideal for hydration. It also has vitamins E, K and Iron as well as natural anti microbial and anti-fungal properties. One of the best things about Coconut Oil is how affordable it is. A 16 oz jar is about $14 and it's so concentrated that it will last forever. Rachel Gower from The Upper Hand Salon is sharing some of her favorite ways to use this beauty must. TheUpperHand.com

1. Use it as a frizz-fighter and flyaway-tamer.

Smooth a tiny bit of Coconut Oil over trouble areas. The natural oils actually repel moisture, which is the primary cause of frizz.

2. Go for the glow.

To brighten up lackluster skin, combine coconut oil with baking soda, which is a superstar exfoliant. Just mix a little bit of the two together, gently rub into your skin in circular motions, and then rinse.

3. Nourish your lips.

Our lips sometimes need a little extra TLC to keep them soft and smooth. Slough off any dry, flaky skin with a DIY coconut-oil-and-brown-sugar lip scrub. Plus, who needs Chapstick when you've got Coconut Oil on hand? Just smooth some on your lips for instant hydration.

4. Body moisture and Cuticle treatment.

Warm up about a cup of Coconut Oil and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Pour the mixture into a sealable container and use it as an all over moisturizer as well as on your cuticles.

5. Makeup Remover and Face Wash.

Smooth Coconut Oil over your skin, leave it on for a few minutes, and wipe it all off with a warm cloth. Not only will this remove your makeup, it will also double as a nourishing facial wash. Plus, this trick works on even the most stubborn eye makeup. Just apply some coconut oil to a cotton makeup pad and gently wipe off any product.
