Young drowning victim remembered in pink tribute

KEMAH, TX (KTRK) -- Bubbles and balloons helped loved ones remember a small girl who drowned this week.

The relatives and friends of Fiona Carroll held a memorial Saturday for the young girl near the Kemah marina. The mourners wore pink to honor the little girl known as Kitty. Bubbles were blown as balloons were released in tribute.

'Kitty' was playing near family's sail boat when she fell into the water and later drowned.

Family friend Shawna Reid said, "This celebration was put together at the request of Kitty's older sister that friends around the Houston area, around the country and around the world join together to show unity and celebrate the memory of Kitty."

Fiona Carroll died just one day after her fifth birthday.
