Houston names new city attorney

HOUSTON -- Houston has a new city attorney.

On Tuesday, Mayor Sylvester Turner announced Ronald Lewis will replace outgoing city attorney Donna Edmundson. She was the first female to hold the position and had worked with the city's legal department since 1986.

Lewis was founder of the firm Marshall & Lewis, LLP. According to the firm's website, Lewis is a Texas native. He is a graduate of Princeton and Harvard Law School.

Lewis' first day is May 2.
