WASHINGTON (KTRK) -- Uncle Sam isn't walking on egg shells in his new warning to chicken owners: Quit kissing your poultry.
Apparently, there is an increase in the number of people catching salmonella from raising chickens.
The CDC says the increase is due to people keeping and raising chickens, and yes, kissing them.
The new study says there has been a 13-percent jump in chicken-related salmonella cases they studied from 1990 to 2014.
In part, researchers say humans kissing their pet chickens led to their illnesses.
