HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police captured the driver of a small red car after a wild pursuit through Fort Bend County. The suspect was driving at a high rate of speed, approaching 100 miles per hour before a crazy foot chase.

He left the road in a highway construction zone, before jumping out of the car and running barefoot across the highway. It's believed the driver was the only person in the vehicle. The driver ran through a nursing home area before giving up, lying down on the ground and surrendering. Police moved in with guns drawn and took the man into custody.

The pursuit began on Chimney Rock, but it's unknown what prompted the chase. No injuries were reported.
