Driver slams into bus stop, claims he was being chased

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A driver claims he was being chased when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a Metro bus stop.

The crash happened around 2:30am Thursday at the bus stop on Dairy Ashford Road at Bellaire Blvd.

The driver claims someone was chasing him when he lost control, hit a light pole, tore through the bus stop, hitting a concrete trash can, then hit a concrete wall at an apartment complex before flipping the vehicle several times.

Amazingly, the driver was not hurt. Police are working to verify the driver's story.
