Body found near highway underpass in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A homicide investigation is underway after a body was discovered near a highway underpass in northwest Harris County.

The body was discovered around 3am on Barker Cypress near Highway 290. Authorities say a construction worker found a Hispanic male floating face-down in water at the bottom of a cement storm drain.

So far, there are no details on exactly how the person was killed or the his identity.
