Guard dead after bank shooting in NW Houston
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A guard is dead after a fatal shooting at a bank in northwest Houston, authorities say.
Police sources confirm to Eyewitness News that the guard, who was driving a Brink's truck, was robbed, shot and killed at an ATM in the drive-through lane at the Wells Fargo bank on the 13000 block of the Northwest Freeway just after 6pm.

Investigators believe he was restocking the ATM at the time of the attack.
According to an eyewitness who spoke exclusively with abc13, a dark-skinned man with a stocky build ambushed the guard at the ATM machine, spraying him with what may have been pepper spray and beating him repeatedly as he held him by the collar.

Witnesses then say they hard as many as five gunshots.
"We have several eyewitnesses we are talking to at this time, gathering information to solve the crime," HPD homicide detective Ivan Ulloa said in a press conference.
No arrests have been made in the case. Police could not confirm how many people were involved in the attack, but eyewitnesses say the assailant fled the scene on foot.
A second Brink's employee who was in the vehicle at the time of the shooting was not injured.
The victim has not yet been identified.
Neighbors say they patronize the ATM at all hours and have never considered that an attack like this could happen there.
"I know everyone is in desperate times, but to kill somebody? Take what you're going to take and go. Leave that person alive," said Eyewitness Rachel Cerda.
So far, neither Brink's nor Wells Fargo have responded to Eyewitness News' requests for comment.
