Police: East Texas woman caught slapping infant arrested

BEAUMONT, TX (KTRK) -- A mother caught on video in Beaumont slapping her baby girl is now under arrest. (Before playing the video, we must warn you. You may find some of it to be disturbing.)

A neighbor began recording the incident after hearing crying and slapping noises from inside his home. Police were called, but the woman had left. She was later found in a home in Port Arthur and taken into custody for a probation violation.

The baby is now in the custody of Child Protective Services.
