Freeport PD: 7-week-old baby found not breathing inside apartment

FREEPORT, TX (KTRK) -- A 7-week-old baby was found not breathing inside an apartment, Freeport police confirmed to Eyewitness News.

Police say they received a call around 7:13pm Tuesday. When emergency officials arrived, they found a baby boy not breathing.

The baby was taken to Brazosport Regional Hospital in Lake Jackson where he was pronounced dead.

Freeport police is treating the call as a crime scene and have not released the cause of death.

No other details have been released.
