Newark superintendent a no-show at meeting

NEWARK, N.J.

With the auditorium overflowing at Rafael Hernandez School, several people had to be moved to the cafeteria for Tuesday night's school board meeting.

These parents want Superintendent Cami Anderson gone for proposing to close or privatize some schools.

But, she decided to skip Tuesday night's scheduled meeting.

Anderson walked out of the board meeting last month after being heckled.

In a letter to parents Tuesday night she wrote, "The dysfunction displayed within this forum sets a bad example for our children, and it's no longer a place where meaningful interaction and dialogue occurs between NPS and the public."
