Officer injured in head-on collision in northeast Houston

An officer was injured during a head-on collision Friday in northeast Houston.

Police say a driver went right through a median before slamming head-on into one of their patrol units in northeast Houston.

The crash shut down Little York near Jensen for hours.

The driver and the officer into the patrol unit were both taken to the hospital in unknown condition. One witness told us that the officer was unconscious after the crash and bleeding from the ear. She says she held a towel to his ear and called 9-1-1.
