Armed men who tried to rob north Houston Pizza Hut leave empty handed

HOUSTON

It happened around 11:30pm at the location off West Little York and Meadowshire.

The employees working inside the Pizza Hut were actually able to escape injury because, according to police, they witnessed those two suspects approaching the building with a gun and were able to get out of the way.

Police tell us the suspects tried to open the door, but couldn't get in because the doors are kept locked after hours. That's when one of the suspects fired a single shot into the front door.

"They fired through the window of the store, causing the window to shatter and one of the bullets going into the cooler area and striking the cooler," said Kenneth Campbell with the Houston Police Department.

The suspects are described as two men in their 20s. Police tell us they ran into a nearby apartment complex. So far, they have not been located.

The employees were not injured.
