The accident happened just before 11am. A witness told police the pickup didn't stop at a stop sign, and traveled into the path of the concrete truck. The truck driver tried to avoid the pickup but was unable to.
The pickup driver died at the scene, and a female passenger in her 20s was transported to a hospital by Life Flight. Her arm was amputated at the shoulder. A nurse passing by stopped to help the victims at the scene.
The truck driver was questioned, but showed no signs of impairment. He wasn't physically hurt, but was emotionally shaken up by the accident and was transported to a hospital as a precaution.
