The average man in Fort Bend County lives to the age of 79 while the average woman lives to be 82. In Harris County, the life expectancy is 76 for men and 80 for women. Galveston County residents have the worst life expectancy. For men, it is 74 and for women, it's almost 80.
The healthiest major city in Texas appears to be Austin. Travis County men had an average life expectancy of 78.4 and women usually live to 82.4. Also, 62.2 percent of men get enough physical activity compared to only 53 percent in Harris County.
