Students injured in North Texas bus accident

FORT WORTH, TX

Fort Worth Independent School District spokesman Clint Bond says the accident occurred about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday as the students were on a field trip. He says there were 35 Elliott Elementary School students and three adults aboard the bus.

He says the injuries were minor and that five children were taken by ambulance to a hospital while a sixth student was taken by a parent for medical treatment. A parent serving as a chaperone also was transported.

Those who were not hurt were transferred to another bus to continue the field trip.

The accident happened near the interchange of interstates 30 and 35, and snarled traffic through the area.
