Ex-HPD officer who crashed SUV into lighting store last week faces judge on separate DWI charge

HOUSTON

Harold Clayton Jr. was arrested at his home last week after he was caught on tape driving through the north Houston storefront of the Lighting Gallery on FM 1960 at Champions Drive. But Clayton was in court Monday for a prior DWI charge.

The judge imposed several conditions to Clayton's bond, including no alcohol and no driving, and he must get a substance abuse evaluation.

Clayton, 59, charged with DWI and failure to stop and give information.
