Police say 30-year-old Saul Diaz was speeding along the East Freeway early Sunday morning when he hit the back of an SUV. Both drivers lost control.
The SUV flipped. The passenger, a 30-year-old Pearland man, was ejected and killed.
Police say Diaz left the scene, but returned and was arrested and later charged.
The other driver had minor injuries.
