In September 2012, Maria Paula Atrian left her home in Fort Bend County to take a job as a maid in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Family members told detectives that in mid-December 2012, Atrian called her daughter and that she was upset and crying, but offered no explanation as to why she was upset.
They say Atrian, 45, stated she would be purchasing a bus ticket to return home to the bus station in Houston, but she has not been seen or heard from since.
