That's when New York City drivers with unpaid parking tickets could find a new type of boot on their car.
The so-called SmartBoots will be placed on cars tied to $350 or more in fines.
Drivers will have to pay the tickets and an additional fee of nearly $300 to get the boot removed.
The program will start in Brooklyn and then spread to Queens.
The SmartBoots are protected by passcodes and are the product of a New Jersey-based company called PayLock.
The tire lock can be self-released with an access code that a violator will receive after resolving his or her fines.
