Volunteers search for woman missing for a week

HOUSTON

She was last seen leaving the Taco Bell on Highway 6 near Keith Harrow, where she worked.

Isabel Alvarado's family and friends have been gathering at Bear Creek United Methodist Church at 16000 Rippling Water Drive for four days now. It's where Texas EquuSearch has set up a command center as they try to find the missing mother.

The woman's children and family members are worried Alvarado's been missing far too long.

Her niece Marissa Ramirez said, "We want her back. Her kids need her. We need her."

Family members say Alvarado was last seen leaving her job at a Taco Bell on Highway 6 near Keith Harrow just after 3am on March 30. They say the hard-working mom never made it home to her four children and it was unlike her not to call.

"This is so unusual," Ramirez said. "We found her truck down Keith Harrow, just a couple of blocks away from her house, maybe four minutes walking distance. That's what got everybody's attention."

Now, with homicide detectives taking over this missing person's case, Texas EquuSearch has been called in to coordinate search teams to look for any evidence of the missing mom.

Frank Black with Texas EquuSearch said, "We started out at the intersection where she was last seen, and we are expanding out as we go."

For now the search teams are checking along creeks, neighborhoods, back roads and bayous for the 5'5", 135 pound woman who was last seen wearing her Taco Bell uniform.

Isabel Alvarado's family has also been out in the community passing out missing person's fliers, hoping someone comes forward with information.

Ramirez said, "We need her to come back. If you have her, if you think you know something, we need her back with our family."

If you have any information, you're asked to call the Harris County Sheriff's Department at 713-967-5810 or Texas EquuSearch at 281-309-9500.
