A price war is fueling big savings for Walmart and Kroger customers in Cypress.

Customers say Walmart opened a gas station at its store on West Little York and Fry Road a few weeks ago. Since then, the Kroger across the street has been matching its gas prices. Both stores are now charging $3.14 for a gallon of regular unleaded. Customers have noticed the low prices.

"The ones on this side of Fry Road are cheaper than the ones on the other side of Fry Road," said customer Savannah Sloan. "So we drove a little bit longer for that."

Other stations in the are charging $3.49 for a gallon of gas or more.
