Amber Alert canceled for girl taken from Humble Chuck E. Cheese after dad returns her to police

HOUSTON

Authorities say Savannah Scheideler is OK and her mother, Samantha Scheideler is very happy. Savannah was taken by her father, Gregory Vincent Daniels, Sunday at around 7:05pm at the Chuck E. Cheese at 124 E. FM 1960 Bypass.

Savannah is white, 33 inches tall, weighs 27 pounds and has dark red hair that is shoulder length and straight on the top and curly on the bottom.

"My understanding is that she's ill at this time, and the information about her illness has been given to the FBI and the Center for Missing Children," prosecutor Beth Baron said.

Savannah has pink-eye in both eyes, an ear infection in both ears, an upper respiratory infection and severe cough and is need of medication.

She was last seen wearing a blue plaid, long-sleeve shirt with a pocket on the left front side that has a studded silver heart on it, blue jeans and black strap shoes. She has one gold earring in the left ear and is missing the right one. She has a bruise on the right side of her forehead, a small scratch on her chin and crescent moon scar on the back of her left shoulder and a brown spot birth mark on the left side of her rib cage. She was last seen with a pink princess blanket.

Daniels, 31, is a black male, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with a light complexion, bald head and unshaven face. He also wears eyeglasses. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white dress shirt.

He was last seen at the Chuck E. Cheese carrying Savannah into the back seat of a dark or black sedan with a rear spoiler, possibly a Ford Taurus, being driven by an unknown party. Authorities say Daniels drives an Audi.

Daniels has a history of violence and is currently in violation of a temporary restraining order.

Authorities say while he is the biological father, he has not been granted any type of custody, only limited, supervised visitation.

The mother's attorney, Bianca Santorini, tells us Daniels has been in a year-long custody battle with Savannah's mother, who fled to Texas from Maryland when Savannah was one month old because of alleged abuse from the father. He followed them here, Santorini said.

Santorini also told us the parents agreed to a supervised visitation with an agreed upon third party. This was Daniels' first visit with the girl. The mother says she was waiting in the parking lot and saw them leave, Santorini said.

Savannah's mother was at civil court on Monday seeking a protective order against Daniels. Authorities are pursuing kidnapping charges against him.

Daniels is known to have a friend in the Spring area.

Anyone with information regarding the child or suspect is asked to call the Houston FBI Office at 713-693-5000.
