Police say the victim, Alberto Lopez, Jr., and several other people got into an altercation with another group of individuals at 10210 Forum West Drive at West Sam Houston. An unknown male suspect then fired several shots at Lopez as he walked through the courtyard of the apartment complex.
Lopez, 22, was struck in the chest by the gunfire. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
