Man accused of shooting neighbor's dog in August

HOUSTON

Charles Roland Blake, 44, is charged with a felony -- cruelty to non-livestock animals. According to court documents, on August 15, Sherina Randle told police she was sitting on her front porch smoking a cigarette when she saw Blake walking down the street with a woman. Randle said her dog, a male pit bull mix, was walking around in the driveway at the same time that Blake passed the home.

Randle then says she heard two gunshots coming from the street in front of the house, and her dog ran up with gunshot wounds to one shoulder and one eye.

As she called police, Randle states that she saw Blake carrying a handgun, which she says he tucked into a pants pocket as he walked away.

The dog was taken to the BARC animal shelter for medical attention.

Blake, who has multiple prior felony convictions, has a $15,000 bail in this case.
