Green, scaly creatures turn up in Roswell, NM

ROSWELL, NM But it's not what you think. These are alligators.

The local animal shelter has now received its third alligator since March. The 2-year-old American alligator was turned in voluntarily.

According to the Roswell Daily Record, it will probably follow the two other gators that were turned in earlier this year, and end up first at a zoo in Albuquerque, where it will be put in quarantine for up to two months.

Then, it will go to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park in Florida, where a gator from Roswell might not seem so... alien.
