HPD Police Chief Charles McClelland went to the Texas Capitol to discuss how an immigration bill could potentially impact the city of Houston.

The legislature is looking at a bill that would free Texas law enforcement officers to ask a person their immigration status.

Chief McClelland said it could cost more than $4 million to train Houston police officers on immigration matters and the immigration bill would lead to further jail crowding.
