The line has since been fixed and the shelter in place order has been lifted. There were no injuries.
Gas leak in Mt. Belvieu prompted shelter in place
MONT BELVIEU, TX
According to the assistant superintendent of Barbers Hill ISD, a Mont Belvieu city crew doing utility work hit a CenterPoint line in the 9600 block of Eagle Drive at about 8:30am. Barbers Hill ISD schools sheltered in place as a precaution and Eagle Drive was closed to traffic.
