Detectives seek information in 20-year-old cold case murder

Detectives are hoping someone will come forward with information about the murder of a man who was gunned down while driving in north Harris County nearly 20 years ago.

Edward Roy Rodriguez was killed during the wee hours of April 20, 1991, according to a statement from the Harris County Sheriff's Office. He was driving his pickup truck in the 10600 block of Veterans Memorial Drive when a sedan pulled up next to him and opened fire.

Rodriguez was struck by bullets, and he lost control of his car, which crashed in a vacant lot nearby. He died at the scene.
