HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man is in jail and charged with murder after reportedly carjacking and killing the vehicle's owner in north Harris County on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call about a carjacking in the 11800 block of Tidwell Road at about 2 p.m.

Deputies said that when they were investigating the scene, the owner of the stolen vehicle, identified as 56-year-old Louis Erebia, tracked the vehicle to the North Loop near Airline Drive. Erebia then confronted the suspect, who shot Erebia and a second man before fleeing, according to investigators.

Erebia was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. HCSO said the second man who was shot at the scene did not die.

HCSO said its CSI and homicide detectives responded to the shooting scene and conducted the investigation.

Officials said London Hogan Sr., 37, was charged with murder for his involvement in the deadly shooting, as well as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery. Authorities said Hogan was booked in the Harris County Jail.
