Packery Channel County Park includes boardwalk

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX The Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports work began in October after the Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries program awarded a $47,000 grant to the Nueces County Coastal Parks Department.

Workers resurfaced the access road into the park and added two launching spots for kayaks. Hummingbird and butterfly gardens are also part of the layout unveiled Saturday.

Director Scott Cross says the 38-acre park also has new concrete benches and an observation deck.

The park borders Packery Channel, which separates Mustang Island from Padre Island.
