Bay City ISD will excuse absences following threats

Students in Bay City who skipped school because of threats received by the district will not be penalized for missing classes. Board members have decided to excuse their absences.

Over the last two weeks, Bay City ISD administration and students have received threats through letters and text messages. Hundreds of parents decided to allow their children to stay home.

Yesterday, the district's attendance committee decided to excuse the missed days.
