Collection runs through the Thanksgiving holiday and donations can be dropped off at the 14th Ward on Airport Highway or at Goody's Sports Bar on South Detroit.
Local moms do "Something Special for Soldiers"
They're asking for socks and candy, among other items and monetary donations to help their sons and daughters serving with them. Donations go toward giving the 200 members of the Kilo Company 3rd Battalion Christmas presents.
