The Tasting Room and Max's Wine Dive are having a back to school drive for backpacks. When you donate a new backpack to the Tasting Room, you will get a free pizza. Or if you drop off your backpack at Max's Wine Dive, you will get a free happy hour appetizer. The backpack drive ends September 15th.
Head over to the Miller Outdoor Theatre this Saturday because it's a Tribute to the Big Band Era! The event starts at 8pm and is produced by the Conrad Johnson Music and Fine Arts Foundation. The music will feature Bach's inventions as well as the original works by Conrad O. Johnson and some other big band greats, like Glen Miller and Duke Ellington.
If you're interested in scrapbooking, Archiver's, the photo memory store, offers several free classes and demos. Between 10am and 9pm Friday and Saturday, they are offering coloring and stamping demos, and again on Sunday from 11am to 6pm. You still have one day to take advantage of Remington College's free haircuts for kids program. Saturday is the last day for kids 17 and under to get a free haircut and style. Also, parents get services discounted 50 percent off. Only two Remington College locations are offering the free haircuts Saturday -- the southeast location off the Gulf Freeway in Webster and a north Houston location off the North Freeway in the Greenspoint area. No appointment is necessary.
