This is Danyelle Shultis' second time behind the wheel for driver training, and this 15 year old already has her eyes on other drivers. "Some of the things I learned is that jerks are on the road and will pull out in front of you."
With driver-ed trainer Brian Cox at her side, she took a test drive in busy downtown Grand Blanc, working her way through construction.
Along with road distractions, Danyelle is learning about the dangers of texting and driving. Next month Michigan will join 23 of other states that have banned the practice.
Cox says he helped get the law drafted and warns his students against texting while behind the wheel. "We talk about how we use our brain and our eye. They know if you take you brain off the road for a second you have lost where you are going."
That's a lesson many teen drivers learn the hard way and something Danyelle hopes to avoid.
