Officer accidentally shoots himself

HOUSTON The incident happened at the detective's apartment on Space Center Boulevard near Nasa Parkway around 1am. Police say the detective was shot in the abdomen and airlifted to the hospital.

Investigators are trying to determine how the gun went off. The officer is said to be a 20 year veteran.
