Two guards shot, one fatally, outside club

HOUSTON It happened around 5:30am at the Eclipse night club on FM 1960 near Red Oak. The shooter hasn't been caught.

"I heard shots, but I thought it was fireworks, because it's the Fourth of July is right around the corner," said a witness, who only identified himself as 'Johnnie.' "Then everybody starts rushing out."

Johnnie says he was out in front of the Eclipse night club when he heard those shots.

"Face covered, pistol in his hand, aims at everyone that was outside, said 'Get the (expletive) out of my way,' rounded that corner and fired two more shots and took off," said Johnnie.

Investigators say the shots were fired directly at two security guards.

"From what we can tell at this point, it looks like he knew what he was going in to do and went in directly and did it," said Captain Craig Clopton with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Both guards were shot multiple times at close range. One was transferred to the hospital in ciritical condition. The other died at the scene.

"I just want to say rest in peace. I love you," said Kathy Dominguez, who knows the victim.

Dominguez says the victim is the father of her unborn child. She told us she's three months pregnant. She and the victim were set to have breakfast when he got off work.

"He kicks people out, so they came back. Tonight they shot him and another bouncer," said Dominguez.

Investigators say the suspect has been seen at the club before, but they are unsure what provoked the violent rampage and the search is on to find him.
