U.S. Marshals say they arrested 25-year-old Melvin Bardwell without incident on Monday morning at the West Houston apartment building where he was staying.
The marshals say Bardwell is charged with homicide and aggravated robbery in the killing of 19-year-old Adair Freeman early on Jan. 24.
Police say the attack occurred outside the Hot Beats recording studio, which Freeman's father owned. They say Freeman was running an errand when he was attacked.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Alfredo Perez says Bardwell is being held in the Harris County jail in Houston awaiting court proceedings.
