Fan's goal is to have new stadium

"This city was built on public private partnerships and to encourage city leaders to have a vision to look beyond the stadium as a standalone entity," said Tina Araugo who is president of the East Downtown Management District. "We have the opportunity to create an economic development district that will spur jobs restaurants and entertainment venues."

The Dynamo wants the city and county to each provide $10 million to help build a multi-use stadium near Highway 59 near Minute Maid Park. The Dynamo team says it will provide $50 million for the construction costs.
